Kerry Yanasak

I began my career in the mortgage business working for a local bank 23 years ago. In 1991 I opened a mortgage brokerage in Puyallup and eventually purchased a small commercial building downtown Puyallup and moved my business to that site. Over the years I have helped a few thousand folks purchase real estate with the proceeds of conventional, FHA and VA mortgages and as well worked with a couple local banks to help put together loans on properties that otherwise would not qualify for financing.

As the mortgage business began to significantly evolve I chose to close my business and became a branch manager for two different large lenders. This gave me direct access to funding sources. However, this change took away all flexibility I had for loan programs, processing and underwriting times. I was no longer able to provide the customer service my clients had come to expect from working with me over the years.

Recently I made the change back to a mortgage broker and rather than re open my own business I chose to "hang my license" with Ironwood Mortgage. At Ironwood Mortgage I have complete flexibility and total control over how my loans are processed and to whom the loan is funded with. I have found this change back to being a broker a very good move. <\p>

On a personal note: I have raised three kids in Puyallup who lead very different and interesting lives, from Public School Teacher to dog sled guides in Alaska. I have owned my own home for 27 years and as well own both commercial real estate, single family rentals and several condominiums. While my business was downtown Puyallup I chose to get involved in the community and was the president of the downtown association, the local Kiwanis Club and did the scouts and PTA thing when my kids were kids. My hobbies include (did include my kids when they were young) travelling and I managed to get my family to many of our continents while they were growing up, my yard would be next and everyone in my family plays the piano and we have even entertained at the Puyallup Spring Fair and Puyallups' Concerts In The Park Series.
